FAQ
Should I take the exams offered by freelancer.com?
Doing anything that helps you stand out from the pack helps. Take the free Freelancer Orientation exam and at least take the level 1 English Literacy exam to show your clients that you are proficient in English. I'd recommend taking some specific exams that would help you stand out in projects you most often bid on. Android= Android Exam, SEO=SEO exam. It's all pretty self-explanatory.
What are levels and credits?
You get XP when completing tasks around the website such as completely filling out your profile, connecting to Facebook, etc... Whenever you level up you get credits which can be spent in the shop for free exams, increase in bids, etc...
Should I fill out my whole profile?
Yes.
Why is no one choosing me as the winning bidder?
So many possible answers... You have nothing in your portfolio, your asking price is too high, you didn't take any exams, they didn't like your name (yes this is a possible reason). Try to focus on making your profile look as good as possible and think about whether you would hire yourself if you were a client based on how it looks.
Can I earn a lot of money in a month?
Starting out as a freelancer is hard, so I wouldn't expect a very high income within the first month. It's definitely possible, but don't quit your day job yet!
